not tonight
so, I was all revved up to take the crew out to see the Italian Job, but appearantly it wasn’t meant to be. Show time was 8:30, so left the house at 7 and we still had to stop for food. Well, there was some police activity that had esentially the only road out of my little f’ing podunk town closed, and it was 7:30 and I wasn’t moving. There was still at least another 90 minutes worth of driving and stops to made too. Crap….trying again Sunday night.

It really isn’t that big of a deal since I already saw it, but some fellow SCMM’ers were going to be there too. Crap

first service
Roxy’s first service visit was today, and I think it went well. I called last week to make a reservation at Crevier MINI for service. The appointment phone call was a bit long I thought, but extremely thorough.

Got there this morning and they were busy! Must have been at least 60 other cars lined up for service! I had to wait about 15 minutes for my service advisor who went through my service order quickly but thoroughly, telling me he would call me later this afternoon with an update or when the car was ready. I then jumped into the 5 series station wagon that was being used as a shuttle and got a lift to work. Start to finish the whole process took less than an hour, I was impressed.

Just before 4:00 PM I got a call from my guy telling me what was done, what was looked at and that Roxy was ready to come home. I got there and 15 minutes later I was driving away! All very professional and extremely courteous.

I had done:
–10K service
–look at sunroof rattle
–fixed sticky drivers side door handle, interior
–looked at clutch/transmission to correct squeak and difficulty getting into reverse. The problem still exists, but I was told that if it was fixed to call back and make an appointment for a time when a loaner car would be available so that they can keep it long enough to troubleshoot properly.

Over all, a very good experience. If you are in SoCal and need service, definitely check out Crevier MINI

a three MINI day
So I had to drive into OC on Saturday to take care of some business and actually managed to see some MINI’s!

Just hit 10.5K miles this week, time for mods! WOOhoo!!! first up? window tinting next weekend. don’t worry, I’ll post pictures.
second? Intake. haven’t yet decided on either the Pipercross viper or the twister CAI from mini-madness. Here are some pics of each…
The Twister CAI

The Pipercross Viper:

After this will be exhaust. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 or 3, just need to make the final descision. It’s either going to be the rSpeed, Helix 13 or Borla. More on this later!

The Italian Job
Wondering how it went?

that’s only 1 of the MANY overhead pictures that were taken of the event. There were local news helicopters overhead for most of the night, partly because there was a MINI traffic jam that really caused some delays on Melrose! imagine if you will….over 300 MINI’s and Mini’s, all trying to pull into the same place at the same time! Well regardless, it was still totally awesome!!!!

So, you are reading this right? Are you in SoCal? Would you like to be a part of the largest and fastest growing MINI club in all of these United States? well my friend, are you in luck! Check out scmm.org for more information. Also, if you like, you can join the official scmm.org Yahoo! group for upcoming event information and other nifty posts by socal members!
