Wow! Just finished off 2 of the busiest (traffic-wise) months here at dbmini.us…

For August:
–232 of you looked at the gallery main page, mostly going for the SOWS pics, followed by the AutoX pics –Some of you are still going to the boat tracking page. Does that process still work? I’ve read otherwise –Motoringfile, GoMotoring and Rocketboy were the best referrers at 104+, 65+ and 11. –Search Referrals…24 for mini limo, 15 for dbmini (awww) and 11 for mini cooper blogs (google has me 5th from the top :D)
Anyway, I appreciate y’all coming by and having a peak. Anything else I can do for you, just let me know
Motorfile posted an interesting story about MINI resale values. As it turns out, I just ran Roxy through Kelly Blue Book and turns out she is still worth a bit of money, even with 60K miles.
High Resale: $18,700 Mid Resale: $16,500 Trade In: $14,300
Overall, I’m fairly pleased with those results. And no, she is NOT for sale! :D
Yep, spent the morning taking all of the track stuff out of Roxy. No more harness and swapped out the Yokohama’s for the Pirelli’s. Pulled off all the decals and gave her a quick wax. Oh yea, used the last of my NXT wash today too.
Red Line Events is having another day at SOWS week after next that I am going to try to make. 1 day, $100. Not a bad deal. Racerfactory is going back out to Pahrump in October, but I really don’t think I can make that one. Dang.
I have also been giving some serious consideration into getting Roxy some more horsepower. Out at SOWS, I was totally able to keep up with all the MCS’, but I had to slow way down to let them pass me on the straights. I need more power!
I could do a camshaft and some head work, but from what I’ve read the cost is about $2K for about 10hp. Seems pretty pricy to me. I could turbo, but none of the makers have gotten the carb sticker for it yet that I have seen. I also have this really crazy idea of looking for a junked MCS that has a good drivetrain and swapping out. This would probably be the most expensive and involved of them all.
Or, I could just get an S. I’m still thinking…
First of all, let it be known that I did not intentionally do this…

Yes it was about the biggest dragon fly I have ever seen! I’m surprised it didn’t crack my windscreen. Moving on…
Like I said, a great time was had by all. I snapped off a few pics you can check out here. Yea, the gallery looks a little odd. I lost most of of the files on my PC week before last, including my gallery template. Don’t worry, I’ll fix in a few days. Meanwhile, there are at least 33 other pics there waiting for you to check out! I’ve got ‘em all in 3.1 mp goodness as well, just let me know if you want ‘em.
WOW!
I’ll start with letting you all know that this was the best RacerFactory event I have attended. Kudo’s to Rich and his crew/instructors! The entire weekend ran very smooth and on time!
Next up, the Track. The Streets of Willow Springs was an awesome track! Lots of changes, lots of turns and just enough straight to get your blood flowing. Rolling into turn 1 at 80+ MPH was a major rush, and ‘The Bowl’ was like riding a rollercoaster! Oh yea, and Roxy loved this track too. She was running awesome all weekend. Even able to keep up with most of the MCS’ in the intermediate group, except on the straights. Brakes worked great and even my tires did very well, allow just the right amount of slide around the corners where I wanted it too.
More, including pictures and links to more pics and video’s, will be coming later.
