dbmini will be moving

Not today or tomorrow, but in the next 30 days I’m going to making some changes to my sites, dbmini included. If you are interested in the hows and whys, you can read about them here.

When the final switch does take place, I will be sure to let everyone know. For those of you that follow along with that wacky RSS everyone keeps talking about, would you be so kind as to update your feed to this (copy and paste the link).

While dbmini is moving, it won’t be going away anytime soon. I will be copying everything to it’s new home and leaving this behind as a permanent archive. Again, follow the link above for the hows and whys.

If you are interested in following along with the process, follow the link above.

The Hollywood Car Show #5

Don’t worry, I won’t be posting them all here, just on occassion. Watch tomorrow for some big updates coming to dbmini too!

Not a lot of new movie updates today, but they are good. Pretty exciting stuff.

Cool stuff going on with CVS as well. If you want to check out some really cool movie cars, including the new KITT, be sure to be at California Speedway on the 31st! They are going to have a bunch of them there and even put them on the track for a lap or two. Should be a sight to see.

Did you see the Splinter? Click through to find out more about the super car made of wood, including a live webcam and blog. Good stuff!

Great interview with Dan Woods and Chris Hall from WAS Productions! They are they guys that do Chop Cut Rebuild, Street Tuner Challenge and a bunch of other car related shows. Be sure to check out the CCR website for even more information. And, of course, follow along at Speed TV. I did have to shorten the interview just a bit, but will be reposting it in it’s entirety later in the week. Great information there, especially for you gear heads that do a lot of old car restoration.

Be sure to check out our newest sponsor Cartatts at cartatts.com. Very cool stuff to dress up your car.

Welcome new listeners! If you are coming from the Mobile Movie Minute, THANKS! If you haven’t checked them out, you should. Movie reviews from the front seat of a MINI. Good stuff!

And another new link in the sidebar

Some of you know that I have started a brand new podcast with Fireball Tim called The Hollywood Car Show. Some of you don’t.

Well, it is now official. There is a website, we’re in iTunes and already have a lot of really cool things planned for upcoming episodes. Sure, we are only 4 shows into it (number 5 goes up Monday or Tuesday), but they have all been pretty good and would be worthy of you checking out.

The show is all about cars. All kinds of cars, especially those found in the entertainment business. We also talk about upcoming movies, movies that will be made fairly soon and movies that should be made at all (Lethal Weapon 5? stop it!).

So if you are looking for something new to listen to, go on over to thehollywoodcarshow.com and check us out!

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. The official mascot of AMVIV, Mr. Cone, has started a blog.

I’m like Santa Claus in that I only work once a year. It’s a pretty sweet gig really, pays pretty decent and it’s fun. I’m the Official greater and all around head guy (no matter what anyone else says) at the largest MINI Cooper event in the United States, A MINI Vacation in Vegas.

Since I’m a Vegas cat, the rest of the year I spend cruising the strip, hanging out at the casinos, checking out the local pubs and enjoying the view from the top of the Strat. That’s also where I like to take my special lady friends, if you know what I mean. Can’t beat the view.

Not only does he have a blog, but it would appear that he is also on Twitter and even has a flickr account.

Check him out! MrCone.wordpress.com.

Not sure who is doing this yet, but it looks like a fun way to get excited about AMVIV to me!

AMVIV6 Update

If MTTS is finished, it must mean it’s time to start thinking about A MINI Vacation in Vegas. Sure, it’s still 8 months away, but it’s never too earlier to start planning a trip to Vegas!

In response to the steep price jump in room rates for AMVIV5, we have negotiated and sliding rate for AMVIV6. The early birds save $20 a night! If you book your room by January 25th, you pay $79 for courtyard rooms and $119 for Tower rooms, which is $10 per night less than in 2008.

That’s a smokin’ deal if you book early.

And, if you are a designer-type that is looking for the chance to attend AMVIV mostly free of charge, plus get a ton of free promotion for you or your company, you might be interested in this.

Many of you will be aware that Dee from CooperCards designed the AMVIV5 shirt, hat and event book cover. We have decided to make this an annual occurrence, having someone in the MINI community design the event artwork.

So, design something cool for AMVIV this year and get 2 free room nights during AMVIV and a ton of free promotion! Yet another smokin’ deal.

All of this information can be found at AMVIV.com.
