For the Photogs

This isn’t something I normally put here unless I know that many of you would use and/or enjoy it. This is something that definitely falls into that category.

Testing another app

The image above (click through for the larger version) was made with an app called Shape Collage. Windows, Mac and Linux versions are freely available. Yes, that’s right, free like beer.

It’s got a simple to use interface. You drag photos into the first box, select the shape you want with the third box, preview and create in the middle box. And it’s fast, or at least it was for me. For the image above I took 66 photos from MTTS last summer and created the image above in less than a minute.

There are settings to adjust the randomness of the photos, change the background color and the spacing/size of the images used. You can even save it as a jpg, png or psd. The only thing is that it only works with jpg images. You aren’t able to use RAW format for this program.

It’s something I’ve been having fun with and thought you photographers out there might enjoy it as well. You can download ithere. If you make any, link them up below!

    Hello,

Another interesting photo effect that would be quite cool with a mini is to do a mosaic.

Here is a free program that does it.
