New Layout

As I am want to do…

Welcome to the newest edition of my wordpress theme. Go ahead and click over to check it out. I’ll wait.

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to bring both of my sites together in some way, and I believe the magic lies in the new third sidebar way over there on the right. That’s where all of my links will go, while the main sidebar will contain site specifics and the search box at the top.

As usual, comments are always appreciated. And don’t go tellin’ me it doesn’t work in IE5. You should have upgraded like 6 years ago ;)

  1. I’m not a huge fan of the multiple sidebars; I think the main focus of the site (the articles) gets diminished.

I’m surprised to see WTF linked; that was so low-profile before! :)

I’m digging your photography. The new camera appears to have opened some creative doors for you!

  2. Thanks. While the sidebar is there are glaring now, in a week or two it will become part of the landscape and you’ll ignore it anyway ;).

I’ve been thinking for a while now on how I could easily combine all of the stuff that I do in the best way possible. Many people don’t know that by subscribing to my tumblr feed, you get 1 stop shopping for dbmini, my flickr, WRR and my del.icio.us links. So, instead of making that kind of post here that would just get buried, I stuck it over there for everyone to check out at their leisure.

And, I think WTF is ready for public consumption now. Heck, I don’t think I’ve used a swear since October! ;)

And thanks for the compliments on the photography. Coming from you that means a lot! I really appreciate it. But, really, it’s not me, it’s the camera and clever cropping.

  3. Okay, I’m still trying to figure out how to implement a Twitter widget but got some “error in Line 81” message.

I gotta agree on Brian’s comment about your photography. It’s getting pretty good. You’re too humble.

  4. hmmm. Not sure how to do it on MT. you should be able to just copy and paste the code that’s they give you.

    what’s your nick over there?

    update.

I really need to check things more often. I didn’t even know you started on WP. Congrats!

You’re theme might not be widget ready. In that case, you should be able to use the ‘code’ version instead.

Just go to Presentation –> theme editor and look for sidebar.php. Find a good spot in there and paste it in.
