Drivers side. I hope I can get it fixed and not have to replace the axel. Those things are expensive!

I was able to get a new (not remanufactured) axel pretty cheap. Driver’s side is cheaper / easier to replace than passenger’s side. My replacement axle came from the local imported car parts store, not MINI. Made by DSS.
There were some remanufactured axles out there too, and those were a little cheaper than the new DSS axle.
New MINI axles were pricey, though.
