The good governator lived up to his promise for rolling back the VLF increases. From dmv.ca.gov

  • Customers who have paid the full amount will automatically receive a refund by mail beginning in early 2004.
  • Customers who have not already paid their registration renewal may calculate their lower fees by taking the VLF line from the billing notice multiply it by .675 and subtract that amount from the total fees due. Round this figure to the nearest whole dollar. You may also use DMV’s Online Calculator

    Should save some of you a bunch of money. And, if you paid, you’ll get your money back first part of the year! WOOHOO!
