Driving into work today (yes, I had to work, but only a half day) all of the freeway information signs have the following posted:
Buckle up
it’s the law!
Not sure about you, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t do this. Even my grandparents get into their Honda Civic Hybrid and buckle up. Of course they were late adopters, as was my Dad, but they are still doing it.
Anyone out there know anyone that still doesn’t buckle up?
Have you ever tried driving the MINI *without* buckling up? The friggin’ thing won’t shut up! There’s a coffee shop about 2/10ths of a mile from my house that I’ve occasionally tried to drive to without my belt buckled and I go insane within a block. :-)
you know there is an easy way to stop your MINI from making that sound…
I had a Chevy Sprint (yes, really) that had the wickedest most annoyingest sound ever for not having the seat belt buckled. That’s how I got in the habit. And that was before it was the law.
Unfortunately all too many still do. Check your local headlines for deaths in accidents. You see it every day. And in most of them, you’ll find they didn’t have their seatbelts on.
With the way I drive, anyone who forgets their belts is usually grabbing for it by the first wild turn. :)
