…or finally the price of gas goes down

As most everyone else is saying, the price of gas is dropping. Quite a bit this week in fact. Monday I paid $3.03. Today a gallon of the good stuff is $2.89 – $2.93 almost everywhere.

It’s about time!

Anyone think there is a chance of sub-$2.00 prices again?

  1. Holy crap! You guys are bothered about a GALLON at under 3 bucks? We pay $7.70 per gallon for 95RON & $8.10 for 98RON in the UK. Bummer.

Ok, you win. But, on the flip side of that, do you drive over 500 miles (804.6KM) during the course of a week? Most people don’t, but I do. That’s why I’m always complaining about gas prices. a difference of $1 costs or saves me almost $30 a week. It kinda adds up.

  3. I think its about what you’re used to in your own situation. In the grand scheme of things $3 a gallon is damn good but when it goes up almost a dollar in a few months that hurts because your budget is tied to that amount.

At home (UK) we don’t drive as much as we do here, there are (usually) inexpensive public transport options so I might say that overall “transport expenses” are not too different. Of course, individual mileages may vary etc.

  4. I would have to agree. I was actually used to $3 a gallon now, but the quick ramp up really hurt.

inexpensive public transport options? Well, I guess there is that option if I didn’t mind spending 8 hours commuting back and forth to work everyday ;).

  5. oops, context error!! I meant to say that the inexpensive transport options exist in the UK for people to get to work, not here. We apologise for the error and any inconvenience caused.
