The newest thing to compare

This is all over the news today. From the article:

WASHINGTON – More than half of car seats do a poor job of preventing whiplash injury because of the way they are built, according to tests by the insurance industry.

And

Sixteen seats, including those in the Chevrolet Malibu and the Subaru Outback, got the second-highest rating of acceptable; 19 seats, including those in the Ford Focus and the Mini Cooper, earned the third-highest rating of marginal.

Third highest rating? I’m not sure about you, but there is still left above my head when I am seated in my normal driving position. At worst I think I might get a nasty bump, but that’s about it. Not that I’m terribly concerned as I don’t plan on rear ending anyone anytime soon.

  1. Hum. I wonder what that thing is that my head is resting against when I’m driving around under normal condidions. I thought it was the headrest on the seat, but I guess not… humm
