This time ending @motoringfile.com.
For those of you that haven’t heard, Gabe has gotten his dream job with a very high profile firm. Of course, he had to go through about a month of courting, meetings, dinners and lunches at the swankest joints in Chicago plus the constant haggling over money. Just tossing money at the lad like so much confetti! Well, if anyone deserves that kind of treatment (I’m really surprised a dual at 30 paces didn’t ensue), it is Mr. Gabriel Bridger.
To that end, his new position (mirror encased high-rise, corner office, executive wash room key) will leave him with very little time to devote to Motoringfile. After spending much of the last 5 years developing Motoringfile into the premier, global news source dedicated to the MINI Cooper, he will be handling the day to day operations to none other than yours truly.
This is not to say that I am taking over Motoringfile from Gabe. It’s his site. Always has been, always will be. My role will be only to handle the more routine (read: boring) stuff. Comment moderation, press release posting and the like. Gabe will still be around writing reviews, posting the ‘big’ news and whatnot. He just won’t be able to be around as much as he has been in the past.
I’m actually looking forward to this and am quite excited about the opportunity and appreciate Gabe asking me to help!
I’ll be starting off slow this week but things will start revving up toward the end of September. Just watch for more of those posts made by DB. My posting here my drop off a little bit more, but I’ll still be keeping up with the odd post here and there.
And, yes, I will use a spell check. Or get a Mac. Or both.
Congrats to Gabe and to you for stepping up to the keyboard. Get a MAC?, oh that will surely be a must !
I hear Gabe gives good benefits at least.
oh yea….he is letting me do this relatively free of charge, plus I still get to read it! I had to work hard for that. It’s a pretty sweet deal ;)
Congrats! It’s sad to hear that we are losing Gabe’s time and attention to a big job (cough-sellout-cough :), but I’m happy to hear that enthusiastic hands are taking up the reins.
Good on ya, DB! Glad another rabid enthusiast will be at the reins.
Awesome dB & Gabe! Sounds like a win-win situation; congratulations to you both. On another note- why the thought of switching to mac? I’m a mac-zealot as well- just curious…
appearantly OSX has system level spell check.
That, or wait for Firefox 2.0 to go public.
Congratulations to both you and Gabe. So where does that leave the participation of Gabe in the woofcast, or am I reading the wrong site to find out that one? :-)
Just as an aside, woofcast and Gabe aren’t in the dictionary or so my Mac tells me.

Right-click, “Learn Spelling”. They are, now! ;-)
You mean crtl-click I trust or do you have a mighty mouse? ;-)
This is way cool! A Mac!
Oh yeah, the gig on Motoringfile ought to be a hoot also. :-)
Hmm…
Commercial Work: Necessary for money.
SCMM: Necessary for community/friends.
WRR: Necessary for fun.
Motringfile: Necessary for a MUCH larger community.
Sleep – completely unnecessary!!!
Congrats DB! I think… ;-)
Rich.
Congrats, boss, you’ll do us proud! Couldn’t be in better hands – nuff said.
Rob
P.S. Make sure he gives you the Executive Washroom key!
Like on Sienfeld, Gabe will also have to be locked into the bathroom to write for motoringfile.
DB – you’re going triple time with posts on MF at the moment! Is this “the new way” or just early exuberance? ;)
Maybe a bit of both. Remember, MF is real news, this isn’t, hence the extra posts.
Maybe I’ll steal some of those for here.
