Crash a Smart

We talked about this on the show a few shows back, and I know there are some of you out there actually considering getting one of these.

Well, should you have a mile or two of open road to get it up to 70MPH and decide that what was really missing from your day was to plow into a 20 ton concrete barrier, you’ll be pleased with these results.

If, on the other hand, you would rather put huge mudders on your smart and gingerly drive around a dirt field hoping you don’t roll over, you would probably prefer this.

Me? I’ll just stick with the MINI thankyouverymuch ;)

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever watched the Smart crash through to see the similar demolition of the Corsa. The Smart crash is impressive, but it’s massively lessened when you see that the Corsa fairs similarly.

The “lifted” Smart is just silly.

I, too, will keep my MINI! :-)

  2. What they don’t discuss is that a car with more front crumple zone would have further dissipated the impact deceleration, and would have been gentler on those internal organs of the passenger.

Is a Smart your next car, DB? ;)
    Did you see this yesterday?

  3. Saw that, and, really, you couldn’t pay me enough to make a smart my next car. I’d rather drive a Yaris.
