Geek Time

For those of you that aren’t following along lately, MS Internet Explorer truly is a gigantic steaming pile of s*^t. Even if you are using Windows XP, SP2, it’s still not that great.

That is why we at dbmini.us and w(t)f are proud to support Mozilla Firefox.

To that end, it pleases us that, according to the server logs, MSIE is no longer the majority browser! The stats:
Sept.
MSIE: 44.4%
Mozilla: 20.3%
Netscape: 10.1%
Safari: 6.2%
Unknown: 16.3%

Oct (month to date)
MSIE: 46.4%
Mozilla: 13.4%
Safari: 12.7%
Unknown: 22.8%

While it’s nice to see the drop in IE usage (about 2-3% YTD) the number is still to high. I dare all of you Internet Explorer users* to try Firefox. Only for a week. The download is fast and It’s free! You’ll love it, trust me.
*Unless you are sneaking peaks while at work. I’m sure your IT guys and gals wouldn’t appreciate you downloading and installing software without their knowledge.

  1. Heh heh, I have 65% IE… and as much as I would like to slag Microsoft, I actually like IE, and could never stand the Netscape/Mozilla type of browsing. That being said, I use Opera. Which is why I let out quite a chuckle when I heard that Mozilla’s next big ‘innovation’ is tabbed browsing. Um, Opera’s been doing that for a L-O-N-G time.. and it works much better than Mozilla’s version… Try it, you’ll like it…

  2. I tried Opera a L-O-N-G time ago, but couldn’t get passed that H-U-G-E ad in the top and, back then, the way that most sites looked in it. UGH.

Not for nothing, I stay pretty far away from Netscape/Mozilla 1.7x. Those are both over inflated bloatware that load all kinds of crap (thank you AOL), and I have issues with that browser (thank you Netscape 2.0, 3.x, 4.x). I’ll just stick with teh Firefox.
