Well, not new anymore, but I’ve been pretty busy with other things and forgot to let you know.
I am now a member of the iPod generation:

Yep, that is a 4GB iPod Nano fixed to Roxy’s dash.
Do I like it? Yep yep.
Am I going to buy a Mac? Probably not, so quit buggin’ me about it ;).
I will, however, post a complete write-up, including the snazzy mounting job, this weekend.
When I saw new toy, I thought for sure you finally got a MAC!
I heard you say that you got an iPod on the last WWR but it seemed to go unnoticed by Todd and Gabe. I thought that was big news. Hope you like it.
Thank you for noticing! I was amazed that they didn’t say more as well, making my first foray into the realm of Apple.
I’m not a mac user but I do love the iPods :-) I have a 60GB myself.
C’mon, get the Mac. You know you want it. Stop being difficult! =R=
Welcome to the cult (er, club)! I had an iRiver for 2 years but switched to an iPod last year–much easier to use.
As both a Mac and a PC user I’ve got to say… The Cult of Jobs leaves much to be desired…
Yes, it has a pretty interface, is reasonably easy to network, and can go into and come out of hibernation well.
But life as a gamer isn’t that great on a Mac, and there’s still LOTs more software for PC’s… Not only that, but good god is the Mac OS slow to shut down and boot up. Heck Windows 2000 might be faster to boot then OS X.
As I type this on my Mac, I’ve got to say, given the choice…. I prefer a PC.
Booooo! Boooooo!
Hehe.
HOLY CRAP! That’s a long time!
Radiationman – one tip that may help. You shouldn’t really have to shut down and start up the Mac. Just put it to sleep. I go a week at least without shutting down my Powerbook and I’m very much a “power” user.
And as far as games go I have to plead ignorance idea since I haven’t played game on a computer since Simcity back when I was a kid. I just stick to playing them on consoles :-)
Oh and DB – I noticed. I just didn’t want to get Todd started on the Mac thing ;-)
I was showing restraint because I get enough grief in return every time I mention anything Apple related. :-(>
Oh and Db, you know you’re going to end up with a Mac to give you better audio recording options when it’s your turn to record WRR.
Finally, I’m with Gabe. I use my Mac to make money and I play my games on the XBox.
My PC does boot XP in about half the time it takes OS X but I only have to restart the G5 once every couple of months so that makes up for it.
Don’t you people go out and drink green beer on St. Pats? I thought that’s what everyone in the midwest did? ;)
We post from in the bar. Xcore like that dogg. ‘Cuz that’s how we midwesterners roll. And such.
Your just using Velcro aren’t you. :-)
The night was still quite an early one at 9:32pm ;-)
…and a little Chicago/St Paddy’s day trivia – most of the St Paddy’s day craziness in Chicago happens on the Saturday night following the parade – which was last Saturday.
Nope. It’s Scotch Dual Lock Reclosable Fasteners. More like a zipper and no carpet was harmed!
That’s the saving grace of the Mac, not only does it always wake up when you put it to sleep, but that it does really fast. Few of the PC’s I currently use and have used, do that well.
I only have to reboot the Mac when I get an update from Apple every month or two.
So I should look for a plug-in so bbcode can be used in the comments? ;)
What, you want me to learn HTML or something? :P
Weeee!! Nice Don!
