Not resolutions so much, Since I don’t make them, more a list of things that I would like to be able to do within the MINI community and with my own MINI. So, lets begin!
- Rebuild my MINI
- Attend more club events
- Do more live shows
- Fix stuff
- put a Clubman in my driveway
- More/better pictures
I would really like to completely overhaul Roxy, make her like new again. Suspension, engine, transmission, the works. Not sure if it will happen the way I want, but little by little I’ll get things done
Starting this weekend. And hopefully at least once a month. I’d really like to get out and do some cart racing!
We started doing live shows in ’07 and I think it works pretty well. Now, to get it on a regular schedule
Stuff that needs to be fixed. Because I’d really like, but the end of the year, to…
Say what you will, but without even seeing this MINI I already love it. I have a long way to go before I can actually think about thinking about getting one, but I’m going to try to get that done before December 31st.
Keep an eye on the Flickr. I’m even going to try to steal the lads new camera on occassion.
That’s it for now. Saturday I will be up at Santa Anita Raceway Park celebrating the 5th anniversary of SCMM with, I’m sure, quite a few other MINIacs. I can’t wait!
DB! Been listening to the wpodcast ever since I order my MINI in October! Good Show! (OK, except for the two in which we couldn’t hear you!) I’m Super Dave on NAM.
Anyway, two questions:
1. Have you ever seen a MINI dressed like Herbie?
2. Do you do some kind of MAC show? If yes, what is it?
Hey Dave! Thanks for listening.
Closest I’ve seen to a “herbie” is a PW Cooper owned by Mini2’er Hat. He had blue & orange/red stripes offset to one side: over the hood & down the hatch.
No number 43, though
db,
I’m with you on the whole “rebuild a velvet red MINI” idea. :) Of course, I have to after my incident.
We need to keep the velvet reds running!
I’m not as illiterate as I type! Just noticed my previous typos! Dang!
Maybe I shouldn’t mention this, but I was watching Herbie Fully Loaded when I asked the question, and it seems to me that Herbie seems to have some MINI attitude in him. Then I started thinking how it would be if Herbie had always been a Mini, and now a MINI… OK, maybe there isn’t a motion picture there, but I can see a very cool MINI commercial!
>We need to keep the velvet reds running!
You might now this. Will R56 suspension bits (shocks and springs mostly) fit on our beloved R50? I might have a bead on some very low mileage parts.
Sorry db… I’m pretty sure (but not positive) that the R56 suspension bits don’t go straight on the R50. In the front, the mounting for the top of the struts is different – which is why the old camber plates for the R50/53 don’t work on the R56.
Double check, but I’m pretty sure the answer is no.
Based on what I’ve seen lately, I’d say you’ve already been letting loose with your photographic creativity.
